Director of Software Development The Director of Software Development, Enterprise Solutions will help build our company's growing Enterprise business. They will lead a dynamic technical team in creating new releases of our Enterprise CRM, our Direct Marketing, and ResearchPoint products. They will drive all aspects of product delivery including design, development, quality assurance, and scheduling. Organization:The Director of Software Development is expected to work cooperatively with other business leaders, especially in product management, support, professional services, and human resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Build and release new versions of our Enterprise CRM, our Direct Marketing and ResearchPoint on schedule, with great quality, usability, and the right feature set for our clients.
Coordinate with other product teams to deliver seamless cross-product solutions.
- Work with senior leadership from the Enterprise Business Unit to assure successful implementation and rollout of our company solutions to our enterprise clients.
- Recruit, develop and retain Enterprise Solutions management team and staff of approximately 85 people. Develop the staff to their full potential through training, coaching and providing feedback.
- Work with other Directors of Software Development to refine and improve our practices for software development, team roles, and success measures. Work with department managers to help them build and manage high performing teams.
- Resolve escalated client issues. Solicit client feedback on product design and usability and use that feedback to create products that delight clients.
- Partner with Professional Services staff to deliver robust application interfaces that enable the services team to build seamless custom solutions and satisfy our clients’ needs to integrate with other critical business applications.
- Anticipate market and team needs or risks and proactively pursue projects and activities to head off issues. Identify and pursue new market opportunities when appropriate.
Requirements/Experience:- Minimum of fifteen years experience in software development, with at least five years developing commercial software for multimillion dollar client engagements spanning six to eighteen month installations.
- Experience managing a cross-functional software development team consisting of 50-100 technical people with a successful track record of delivering high quality products on schedule. Demonstrated leadership in the areas of software architecture, database design, web development, quality assurance, load testing, and performance testing.
- Referenceable experience handling the demands of a fast -growing team with multiple simultaneous releases and projects.
- Experience developing new software applications from concepts through to product launches and post support activities.
- Experience with the Microsoft technology stack including SQL Server and .NET.
- Experience working in or with non-profit organizations is helpful. A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university is required and a masters degree is preferred.
