Reporting to the Manager, Pipeline Engineering & Integration, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of detailed design engineering and procurement for the scope of the project.
Required education & experience
Welders perform some or all of the following duties:
- Manage the execution of the detailed engineering for the pipeline scope of the project, assuring approved scope, schedule, cost, environmental, health and safety, stakeholder and regulatory compliance objectives are achieved.
- Develop a comprehensive pipeline design that meets project requirements while minimizing capital and/or operating costs. Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure that design details are addressed in a thorough manner.
- Generally will manage design consultants, but may be required to complete detailed design work.
- Accountable for the quality, cost, scope and schedules of all work performed by consultants and contractors.
- Accountable to ensure compliance with Project Procedures, design standards (includes providing recommendations for improvements) and regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for working with Procurement to ensure all the necessary material is procured and available as dictated by the project schedule.
- Responsible for working with internal Construction Management resources on constructability and construction planning.
- Responsible for the coordination of project regulatory applications.
- Responsible for working with internal stakeholders to achieve synergies with other projects.
- Responsible for ensuring that throughout the execution process, effective and pro-active communication is maintained with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Practice sound project management in accordance with company expectations.
- Responsible for working effectively within a collaborative team structure. .
Position duties & responsibilities:
- A Professional Engineer with a minimum of 8 years progressive experience in engineering design within the construction or oil & gas industry, preferably pipeline related. Other combinations of education, training and experience may also be considered.
- Preferred disciplines are mechanical and civil engineering.
- Sound knowledge of the design and construction of pipelines and related facilities (piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, structural etc.) and associated standards and specifications.
- Ability to oversee other engineering disciplines
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership, analytical, problem solving, decision making skills and teamwork skills with proven ability to work with diverse groups and individual personalities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good collaborative work style.
